Boston Ujima Project – Juneteenth Celebration at MAAH & ICA

Role: Event Photographer & Visual Storyteller
Client/Collaboration: Boston Ujima Project

In celebration of Juneteenth, the Boston Ujima Project hosted a two-part cultural gathering at the Museum of African American History (MAAH) and the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), honoring Black freedom, creativity, and collective economic power. I was invited to document MAAH event as a visual storyteller, capturing the energy, joy, and reflection that defined the day.

From live performances and community togetherness, my work centered on preserving the richness of the celebration — highlighting intergenerational connection, Black artistry, and the spirit of liberation. I focused on authentic moments: children in motion, artists embodying resistance and joy.

This project aligned deeply with my mission to visually archive Black cultural experiences, especially those rooted in justice, celebration, and future-building.
